Hi,
I think it would be very useful to have a throttle mechanism so that you can use sync in the background. with throttle in place, I do not need to worry about the size of files that I drop into a synced folder even if I am on my slow work VPN.
Question is of course what would happen if I interrupt a transfer with a reboot ....

RealTimeSync (RTS) will/should never cause any substantial system loading or data transfer.
FreeFileSync (FFS), whether launched by RTS or manually, should normally not cause substantial system loading, but may obviously cause notable data transfers if big files need to be synced, and may thus clog network connections.
If that would cause problems, you can set the FFS RunWithBackgroundPriority flag to True.
