Hi anyone, after using freefilesync different times without any problems I
tried yesterday to manage my mp3 collection.
On the right side was my harddisk and on the left i had my external drive.
What i did: I was comparing files on booth sides. So if I found some missing
on the harddisk I mirrored them to it. The problem it looks like this
mirroring completely deleted all the files in the target folder (this was the
folder were all my mp3 where stored).
Did i use mirroring in a wrong way? Did mirroring "cleans" the target folder
before copying the new files?
Any ideas the get the data back??? Some different Tools like "Recuva" cannot
find any deleted mp3 an the whole harddisk.
Please help before I really got crazy. Let me know what I did wrong as well
(Maybe I'm a little bit better using it next time.)

Thx D.

No, FFS operates file by file, with all operations being transactional.

It may be that you selected the wrong target folder. In this case both folders
are disjunct which leads to total deletion of target with all files of source
being copied to it.

If you used mirror, all relevant files should be in the source dir!?
However to restore deleted data programs I recommend GetDataBackNTFS and
GetDataBackFAT.
