Updating from ver. 10.24

You can call me stubborn, and you can call me a geezer. You'd be right on both counts. I've been running (and enjoying) version 10.24 Donation since the change in UI format with ver. 10.25 and up, because I prefer a flat-file layout.
Well, I figure it's time this old dog learned a new trick. I've kept up with donating and downloading newer versions, but have yet to replace v10.24. Given that it has been so long, I'm wondering about the update process.
(1) Is there any sort of conversion process involved, either automatic or manual, for example with the sync.ffs files I have been using to date?
(2) Or, do I just install the newer version on top of the old, and just keep on running FFS with the same folders and batch processes as before?

I suspected as much, but wanted to be sure. With 3 computers running FFS, I didn't want to corrupt things if they weren't all in sync across different FFS versions.
