My user on a Mac has gotten these errors like these with a reasonably recent edition of FFS.
Cannot move file
"Volumes/MariaDrive/Users 2013-2022/Noa 2022/Noa01 raw data/Noa01_SP_33_34~98.ef.ffs_temp"
"Volumes/MariaDrive/Users 2013-2022/Noa 2022/Noa01 raw data/Noa01_SP_33_34.xls"
EEXIST: File exists [rename]
This apparent bug seems to have occurred in the past

I don't permissions is a possible explanation. To my knowledge, this is a Mac-based destination disk. I think they user was doing an update. It’s not clear why FFS was trying to update items already in the destination.

is probably 'corrupt' and can't be deleted by FFS to write the new version. Try deleting the file manually

It’s not just this one file, but possibly a few dozen. Also, it’s not clear why FFS is trying to replace them because I think the user is “updating”, and I don’t think these files have changed since when they were first written.

Run a compare only in FFS. The results will tell you why it wants to update them

We ran into this again and were able to open files on the target. This implies the target files aren’t corrupt.

Not necessarily true. VLC can open corrupt files and play them until it reaches a corrupt section. It's possible that the file isn't fully corrupt, but enough that there's an issue. Try performing to copy manually
