how installing donation edition (Linux Mint)

Hello Community
I would like to install the Donation Edition in Linux Mint. In the zip file I have a .key file and a .run file. But how do I have to proceed now?
Another question: How does the program update, does it do it by itself?

Run the .run file I believe. Some people have had to run it from Terminal. FFS will check for updates once a week and have an 'auto-update' button when it finds one. That is the case for Windows at least
