By "delete", I'll take it that you want to remove them from the listing - temporarily, rather then physically deleting the files from disk.
Highlight the file(s) you want to ignore, & hit the <spacebar>.
For an entire tree, right-click on the directory-name itself (not on a file name), & select, Exclude temporarily.
(Even though it says, Space, that will not work.)

I was thinking of removing the drop down entries for choosing folders. But, thanks to you, I realized that it was enough to select an entry from the list and press DEL.
