Oh my do I feel dumb. Well thanks for your help. Just saw what could pass for FFS arrows and made an assumption.

I disconnected the source, but this image is from the destination drive.
Cleaned thumbnails, restarted computer, reset FFS from having these saved project to something new, and deleted FFS log.

After my last job, copy hd to ssd, using FFS all my files icons were left changed. My file icons now have the FFS arrows, that are like two arrows with the two arrows coming together, after the copying in the upper right corner.
