I'd suggest you look at the calendar entry for the backup and make sure the repeat and alert values are as expected. I've included an attachment showing how mine are set up.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to take some time this weekend to look more closely at the problem. I found that for some reason the associated calendar alerts had returned to their default values. Recently my scheduled batch jobs have stopped running. I've deleted, and recreated the automator files but that has not helped. I'm running High Sierra. Any input would be appreciated.
