That's the answer. Many thanks. I had tried a search before postiing, but it didn't flag that.

Maybe an earlier instance of FFS hung in memory? Quit FFS, check Task Manager & see if any "freefilesync" still show up? Remind.wav says its set for "unattended error". So also maybe something is noted in your logs? Ta. I deleted all instances and restarted, but it came back...

Every few seconds, FreeFileSync plays remind.wav. However, there is no dialog box and no sign of what is causing it. I know that it is FreeFileSync playing it from a diagnosis using Procmon. Any suggestions?
