Hi @xCSxXenon, I was getting the error when trying to do a comparison/sync. I have an external ntfs drive with all my data, that I was trying to move to my mdadm raid 6 ext4 box when I was getting the error. After I did the above sudo commands I was then able to use FFS to transfer the data as ...

I am on LinuxMint I too was getting this error and this worked for me:
Try this, fixed it for me
sudo chown -R username path
Example:
sudo chown -R emanuel /home/emanuel/test/

Thanks All, Looks like I had to move the .key file to OPT/FreeFileSync. Its now working.

Apply license .key
Hi all I just donated and installed the FreeFileSync Donation Edition. However I can not figure out how to apply the .key file that came with it. Any ideas? I am on Linux Mint.
