My apologies. I installed FreeFileSync then configured norton online backup at the same time. I didn't notice the indicators change when norton was installed. So I mistakenly thought it was something from FreeFileSync.

Specifically these indicators that appear on the icons themselves.

Is there a way to disable the icons through out the whole system?

I have read the forum post about the desktop.ini and how to keep the desktop icons the way you want. But I'd like to turn it off everywhere.
