I solved the problem by first doing a hand transfer and then running a mirror copy for verification. That, it went well and lasted 45mn. Obviously freefilesync has some difficulties with very large transfers, but for the rest, it is a great software and works on linux mac and windows. Thanks again ...

I have a large transfer to do (1.5To) that includes folders with up to 10 sub-folders and mirrored files. Between a PC running windows 11 pro and openmediavault running debian 12 with the samba protocol.
