Re: Can I get a version of FreeFileSync that will run on XP SP2?

Okay, here's what I discovered. 6.5 for Windows would not run on my XP SP2, but 6.0 WOULD. I'm going to test it over the next few days, and I'll report back, but so far, so good!

Yeah. But wasn't there a previous version of FFS, an older version, perhaps that came out before SP3 came out, which should work with SP2?

Re: Can I get a version of FreeFileSync that will run on XP SP2?

Hi, Zenju,
First of all, let me tell you how much I appreciate that you are helping me with this. I have been using xxcopy and robocopy to do backups, but there are problems with both, and I was hoping I could get FFS to work for me.
I installed that 7.1_beta that you prepared, but I got the exact ...

Re: Can I get a version of FreeFileSync that will run on XP SP2?

My main laptop runs XP SP2. It's 7 years old, the last of the Thinkpads that had excellent screens. Years ago, when I upgraded to SP3, it broke my Adobe Photoshop, and a couple other programs that I needed. So I downgraded to SP2, and have been happy as a clam ever since.

Re: Can I get a version of FreeFileSync that will run on XP SP2?

Hi, Zenju,
I get a Windows Stop error message: "The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll." and the program won't launch.
I googled around, and found messages stating that the latest version of FreeFileSync won't run on SP2 ...

Can I get a version of FreeFileSync that will run on XP SP2?

Hi. I have a computer on which I would love to run FreeFileSync, but it's running XP SP2, and for various reasons I can't/won't update it to SP3. Is there an older but stable version of FreeFileSync that will run on SP2? and how would I obtain it? Thanks for any assistance! --Steve D.
