FWIW I have noticed that MS Office (word, excel, etc) is making changes to my files when I open them, even without explicitly saving. The changes relate to certain metadata or links to other files (when those other files are moving, the link to them is auto-updated).
That results in file size ...

Re: How to export the list of files to be synchronised or deleted
Is it possible to extract, in *.csv for example, the files that need to be synchronised or deleted?
That would be very useful.
Thank you in advance for your help.
@masterto - your answer to the questions here could be useful to the developer of FFS.

Re: Where does the exported file list go?
Although I'm not in need of this today , I agree the Export is useful
I'm wondering:
Who is in need for a file list export in first place?
Why is this a useful feature to keep in FreeFileSync, rather than remove it to simplify the GUI?

Re: Files Not Synching
@HBoyter, you should provide more info about the 2 locations of the sync. (E.g. are they both on disk? are they on network, sharepoint, ftp, etc)
If you are convinced the date/size did not change, test this with another method (outside FFS).
Also do a bitwise comparison of the files.
Etc.

Thanks Zenju.
For anyone reading this later, I can confirm that l did receive the download link for donation edition, by email, (if I remember correctly) 1-2 days after the bank transfer.

Re: Where does the exported file list go?
Although I'm not in need of this today, I agree the Export is useful and would be better with a basic "save to disk" implementation (in homedir or configurable location), rather than "open in app that handles .csv".

what's the preferred donate method?
Curious....
What's the donation method that has the least cost for the receiver ?
I see there is Paypal, Credit Card, IBAN bank transfer (to Ireland?)
I'm guessing bank transfer has zero cost for the software author, esp when doing SEPA transfer, but I could be wrong. (It has the disadvantage of ...

Re: Auto-update in portable version
+1 for the question
I am also interested how the portable version updates, esp on a computer where user has no admin rights.
David (post above), when you mention a portable .zip file, is that a download from the site, or a zip file you prepare on another computer (with admin rights) by running ...

Re: Switch to Portable Version
+1 for the question
I'm looking to try the latest FFS via a portable version.
I dont want to immediately erase my very old installed version (7.x) that I stuck with for years.
Is there a portable version for that in the free version? Or in the donation version only?
Thx

Re: [BUG] Portable installation is broken in v8.0
I especially registered an account to say that
- I use FFS on a computer where I have limited OS permissions, and CANNOT run an installer.
- I typically install FFS update on my personal pc in portable mode, then move the files over to the target computer
I'd be disappointed if that is no longer ...
