At your suggestion, I examined that page. I had already tried the technique there using wildcards only for the filename. But I tried slightly differently, as shown on that page- it failed too.
Then I realized it first said to set up the folder pairs twice with different exclude and include filters ...

Re: Can't ignore a directory tree but includ a single file
I should've been more clear- I have lots of other files and directories that I need to copy in this job (and it's working well, except for this file). But from this one directory (PPL), I just want the one file and want to ignore the rest of the directory and subdirs. Your suggestion would work if ...

Can't ignore a directory tree but includ a single file
I created include and exclude lists that contain these:
Include:
Exclude:
But I can't get FFS to include that single file (PPL_Index.htm). It just ignores it.
What am I doing wrong here?
Include:
*
\PPL\PPL_Index.htm
\PPL\

Here's the current command line: "C:\Program Files\FreeFileSync\FreeFileSync.exe" "C:\Users\mine\Documents\FFS_ALL_BatchRun.ffs_batch"

Re: I'm sorry to say, but the restriction of portable mode to the donation version now, annoys me
I am sorry, but I don't get it. You seem to be saying you love the existing features, but you won't donate unless there are more compelling paid features. But you think the portable option should remain free. So, it's not a compelling enough option to donate? But you don't need to because you ...

RTS file doesn't contain a valid configuration
I want to make RTS sync after a minute or more. So I loaded a batch configuration I saved in FFS. That works but syncs every 10 seconds regardless of what I try. Someone here told me that I need to use a "real" file, instead of batch. So I used the "Save As..." feature of RTS to save the file as a ...

It seems fine. Here it is:

<Item>C:\Projects\Stealth_Mouse\Data</Item>

I can't make it get a valid configuration. Here's the message I get:

RTS- can't change default 10 sec wait
I have tried to make the wait time MUCH longer, because when I open certain software, RTS pops up a modal progress dialog in front of the application window. I tried making it delay by times ranging from 75 seconds to 180 seconds, but it always reverts back to 10 seconds, even though I save the job ...

What's "Use local settings"
I have a batch file that I run in RTS. I added a new folder pair and went to change the sync settings, but the options were disabled. I checked "Use local settings" and they were then enabled. What does "Use local settings" mean? What other settings are there and how would I change those?
