Thank you very much for such a swift solution. FreeFileSync 8.3 beta1 & 2 give the same error code as before. The FreeFileSync 8.3 beta3 did the trick, I tested it on all my devices and every one of them worked perfectly well.

Thank you for your response. The modification time problem is not limited to the fritz.nas but is a general problem with my devices.
This is the example of my old laptop a Compaq-Presario also using Linux Mint 18.
