No, not FFS but Windows-OS regards file/folder names with the same contents and the same name (but different casing) as the same. E.g. 2 text files Ab.txt and aB.txt having same context really are the same.

BTW, I only see this happen with a client that sometimes feels the need to change casing for ...

Of course it does. But that is not so nice, because then I'll miss severe errors as well ...

FFS gives warning comparing 2 files with same name

Hi,

when I run FFS on Windows, FFS warns that a file abc.txt compared with ABC.txt is equal, but the casing is different.

Since (in Windows) abc.txt and ABC.txt are considered equal, I'd like very much to have an option to ignore case in file or folder names.

Is there a way to achieve this?

Hi, I don't see a context menu for FFS in Explorer!

Still I could work around it, because it appeared to be an open file.
So now I run the back-up as Administrator and FFS creates a VSS first.

How to exclude files beginning with a dot (OneDrive)?

Hi, OneDrive appears to have a special file named (on my PC) .849C9593-D756-4E56-8D6E-42412F2A707B which is a (H) hidden and a (S) system file in Windows.

FreeFileSync pops-up on this file because it cannot copy it.

So, I'd like to exclude it.

Given the syntax for excludes I was not able to do it ...
