Re: See excluded folders in the overview

What are the potential drawbacks? What about excluded files? Show them, too? File list getting too messy? Usage patterns that rely on excluded files not in the list? These are all interesting questions, but I fear they can only be answered after trying the new feature. My core remark is mostly conc...

Re: See excluded folders in the overview

Hi Zenju, Sorry for the late reply, I got sucked up into lots of holiday-related stuff. The checkbox to handle filter input sounds like a nice idea, but also a pretty complex one. It might be easier to have the "Show filtered or excluded files" feature show every file/folder that the filte...

Re: See excluded folders in the overview

That sounds like the most sensible workaround. But it comes at a price: any new folder created needs to be excluded, or it will sync.

I think I'll try to write a feature request.

Thanks a lot for the help, though

Re: See excluded folders in the overview

Hi! I care because if I don't see them, I cannot manage them. Let's say that after having created the filter I described above, I add a folder to C: called "data", and I want to include it into the sync job. I can only do so by either editing this filter manually, or resetting the filter a...

Re: See excluded folders in the overview

Or are you referring to temporary exclusions from right-clicking files in the comparison results? Ah, this kind of helps. I never noticed that feature. Thanks! It only gets half the job done, though, because it only shows things that are excluded within my included folders. If I use the "inclu...

See excluded folders in the overview

Hello folks, Maybe I am missing something, so before making a "feature request" I will ask the hive mind for help. Every time I try to be smart with my filters, I realize that the overview panel reacts to any filters I apply. This effectively means I have no easy way to apply filters via t...

Re: FreeFileSync is not free.

I find it strange how people quickly jump to defend something that a) does not need a defense, and b) is not in their power to change anyway. Just because we are fine paying for the tool (I am, by the way) doesn't mean we have to take sides. The point Tio is making is pretty clear and straightforwar...

Re: Tip - alternative for gnome-schedule on Linux

Never mind, I figured it out. My display ID is :1, not :0. The code below seems to do the trick (and solves the missing MTA problem by creating a log file for the output). * * * * * DISPLAY=:1 /usr/local/bin/FreeFileSync /home/user/shell_settings.ffs_batch >> /home/user/cron.log 2>&1 I still get...

Re: Tip - alternative for gnome-schedule on Linux

Hi guys, Just wanted to chime in. I landed here after realizing that gnome-schedule is not an (easy) option on Ubuntu now, so I wanted to try and use crontab instead. I admit this is the first time I try to set up a cron job. Anyhow, I first fiddled with crontab to make sure I understood how it work...

Re: Lifetime sub

All the information about donations can be found here.

This is indeed the right place to propose a new feature. I guess a lifetime donation could be considered as such, but I think it is a bit of a stretch. :P

Re: Horrible interface in version 10.25

While I agree with some of the things mentioned in this thread (i.e. smaller indents, options to collapse a folder's content, toggle to switch view type) I find the tone of some of the comments (and the thread title for that matter) a bit too much. Considering this software is free, without ads, and...

Re: Job wants to keep the OLDEST version of a file

May be the same as explained here. Plerry, 23 Sep 2019, 11:05
You are indeed correct, sir. I changed the mode to "Mirror" and now the behavior makes more sense.

Thanks ;)

Can you attach a picture of your sync settings(F8)? xCSxXenon, 22 Sep 2019, 14:16

Re: [Forum] Dial down the aggressive spam filter

You just have to give it some time. I had the same thing, but after a couple hours and posts, it went away. You can just post the plaintext xCSxXenon, 22 Sep 2019, 14:35
I know there are workarounds. My suggestion still stands. ;)

Job wants to keep the OLDEST version of a file

Hi there, I'll write down all the steps I did before noticing the behavior, just for clarity. I honestly don't know if the behavior was there before or not. 1. Connect to a Google account 2. Update the sync job to use Google Drive as one of the paths 3. Compare the folders for the first time The out...

Probably because it is the solution to the problem titled "Mac: permission to copy photolobrary"that was reported in the other section?

Sorry, I was trying to link directly to the post but the board thinks I am a spammer :P
