That would be a nice approach (non-default selectable option).
Hopefully it will be considered for future roadmap.

Re: Bug - already existed but excluded folder on dest not deleted
Okay second thought, maybe it's a feature or does make a bit sense BUT it would be nice to have an option to delete those newly excluded files & folders from dest when they exist so after mirror both source and dest are the same (excluding the excluded files & folders on source side of course).
It's ...

Re: Bug - already existed but excluded folder on dest not deleted
Well it is a bug, the author of FFS clearly doesn't know the definition of mirror. You would expect both source and dest to be the *same* after doing a mirror, so deletes in source are mirrored at dest.

Bug - already existed but excluded folder on dest not deleted
Hi,
I am mirroring folder A to B. I am excluding subfolder AA from A using filter setting. When this subfolder AA already exist on B (for example from a previous mirror which didn't have the exclude subfolder AA setting) it's *not* deleted.
Btw I know I can of course delete all on B and then rerun ...

Re: Transfer speed limit
@Gianni1962 Please share how you accomplish this.
NetLimiter is a great tool and does work for me with other programs.

Re: Transfer speed limit
That will not change. If you are doing nothing on your PC, FFS will take all available bandwidth of your PC. If that happens to be the max. bandwidth of your network other clients will notice this in their limited speed.
If you are doing some browsing or downloading then FFS will be running on a ...

Re: Transfer speed limit
v11.5 works also in my experience... Be sure to first close FFS, then update the RunWithBackgroundPriority in GlobalSettings.xml, save it, then start FFS.

Re: Transfer speed limit
Well there is still 1 disadvantage... other computers will still suffer bad wifi speeds because FFS "won't notice them". So speed limit would still be usefull.

Re: Transfer speed limit
Well I found this expert setting called RunWithBackgroundPriority see https://freefilesync.org/manual.php?topic=expert-settings
Just sync and wait when files are copied... this will be at full speed.
Then do simultaneously a https://www.speedtest.net
and notice a drop in FFS speed but (almost) full ...

Re: Transfer speed limit
Would be great. I am on WiFi for my work-laptop so bandwidth is limited and now FFS is taking up all bandwidth and I can't work/browse the internet anymore.
For other tools like FFS I use NetLimiter where you limit the speed for each application/process. But the way FFS is implemented this is not ...
