Re: Irritating Audio Alert occurs every minute. Is it FFS?
Haha! Good news to hear this has been addressed and a fix is in place. You are talking about it being fixed in v12.4 and onward I assume Zenju?

Re: Confusion about Log File Location storage.
No physical quotes in mine either therube, they were just there to show the extent of the XML entry. Is that G:\DEV\BACKUP\FFS_LOGS address the same as your default folder specified in Tools->Options?

Confusion about Log File Location storage.
Hi. I surely must be missing something simple here.
The Default Log Folder location is set in Tools-> Options. When I create and run a batch job it writes to that location as it should. However, looking at the saved .ffs_batch file in a text editor I can see the XML and there is an element ...

Re: Irritating Audio Alert occurs every minute. Is it FFS?
Hi Zenju, thanks for replying. I'm certainly not seeing any popup dialogues. The sound simply pings away every minute, and it is exactly every minute. One thing I have found is that if I complete a manual backup from the batch file, listen for the alarm to check it is still active then restart the ...

Irritating Audio Alert occurs every minute. Is it FFS?
(Reposted from General Discussion as some fool chose the wrong forum!)

Re: Windows Scheduled Task uses 32 bit .exe
Aha! I appreciate the reassurance Zenju. I wondered why there were two processes listed but I figured it was the other way around. Problem solved Thanks again for your help.

Re: Windows Scheduled Task uses 32 bit .exe
Bang on the money to a point! I did make that mistake originally Zenju but I spotted it and changed it to Win 10.
Just checked it again to make sure. It is still set for Win 10 and it still opens the 32 bit .exe when the task is run from Windows Task Scheduler.

Windows Scheduled Task uses 32 bit .exe
Hi guys, a simple one this time. I've dug around and found a few posts relevant to this but none which seem to give me an answer to my own situation.
I'm using Win10 Pro 64 bit with a full 32GB of RAM and endless disc space available. FFS is v11.8 64 bit as reported from its Help. FFS runs fine ...

Re: Why does backup of one applications files always occur when there is no change?
Just a quick update as there is now more info on this.
Nope, the fix didn't stick. A couple of hours later I was back where I started. Frustrating! So I did a bit more digging around the Synology area and guess what I found? The underlying problem to this has been a known issue in their DSM OS for ...

Re: Why does backup of one applications files always occur when there is no change?
Yes, that seems to have got it. Pretty weird issue I think. It doesn't seem to like the idea of working to a folder on a network drive mapped as a drive on the base machine. Maybe it just got confused for a while.

Re: Why does backup of one applications files always occur when there is no change?
No none. I'm going through the process again but this time something occurred to me. I am backing up to a location on a network drive which is mapped to a drive in the PC. I had the drive letter as the target for the backup. I asked it do the compare with the full network address and it came up with ...

Re: Why does backup of one applications files always occur when there is no change?
When I do a Compare and it lists the files it says "Left side is newer" but they have just been backed up minutes before. They show dates like: <- 20/03/21; -> 10/12/20. If the previous backup from minutes before was performed fully surely these should now show the same date.

Why does backup of one applications files always occur when there is no change?
I perform a simple nightly backup set up in Windows Task Scheduler of the whole of MyDocuments. FFS does this perfectly with one exception. I am an electronics engineer and use LTSpice circuit simulation software. This has a huge library of tens of thousands of modelled components in many thousands ...

Re: Cannot prevent Shutdown from "Run a Command - On Completion"
Agreed without any argument Zenju. But there it was as clear as day and bold as brass. I have no idea where it came from or how it got there. It shouldn't have been but it was. It was an error of some sort and I have no doubt I caused it in some way. Maybe something from when I was playing with the ...

Re: Cannot prevent Shutdown from "Run a Command - On Completion"
Got it!
Thanks for replying Plerry, you confirmed what I already thought would be the case but the actions didn't follow what I had carefully selected in Synchronisation Settings. However, I've just rechecked the batch file setup - again - and I've found my mistake.

Cannot prevent Shutdown from "Run a Command - On Completion"
Hi. My problem is with Version: 11.8, 64 bit, on PC Windows 10.
I'm new to FreeFileSync and have just set up my first backup task saved as a batch file. There is no problem in setting up the task to do what I want, it is remarkably clear in most aspects. However, every time it runs it completes ...
