Turns out you can enable SSH Server on the Mac very easily through the menu.

How to turn on SSH server on Mac in macOS Ventura 13 or newer
Go to the Apple Menu and select System Settings.
Open the General preference settings.

I just upgraded from macOS Monterey to Ventura, and FFS no longer opens.

I redownloaded the Donation Edition and reinstalled it, but I still get the same error message. I am running FFS 13.0.

Any thoughts about how to fix this?

Stupid me, I overlooked something simple. Everything working flawless now.

.ffs_batch files cannot be ran by RTS

It starts the batchrun.ffs_batch file. Started by hand (RTS) it works flawless. Works on MacOSX Yosemite flawless for years.

Wouldn't know how to create a ffs_real file?

It looks like you are starting RTS, but not starting a .ffs_real configuration

Are you starting RTS on its own or with a configuration file?

I let RTS autostart in Ventura. Problem is it only starts 1 proces and thus doesn't work.
Starting RTS by hand starts 2 processes and works just fine.

Is there a solution so it will autostart properly?

if you want to eliminate Samba from the equation I recommend using an open source utility called Rclone. It runs on a Mac, and will let you mount your Unraid server drives. I'd recommend loading SSH Server on Unraid, and connecting via SFTP rather than SMB. actually, you can do this with FFS alone ...

I am backing up a 8TB to different smaller drives, using FFS, teracopy, os copy, on MAcos monterey and Windows 11. I've seen incredible diffent speeds, from 70 MBps to few 100 kbps, windows explorer copy more than 120 MBps

Completely different issue, that's to external drives not a network server. I have since discovered it is a problem with MacOS and SMB servers. Workarounds are more complex than it is worth for my purposes.

I sync via SFTP from a Mac on macOS Ventura 13.4 to an external HDD connected to a NAS on LAN.
Date/Time compare + Mirror

user have read/write permission rwxrwxrwx (777)

I understand your point and this is what I suppose the RTS should work like this. However, my RTS has to be STARTED everytime to sync the source and the target file.

I am using the donation version ... after update to 12.0 (I am on Mac Ventura 13.2) I did loose massive writing speed to the SSD. Before it was about 600 mbits and now it is only 60.

Someone found the solution for this, just drag the installer pkg from the downloads folder to the desktop.
