Without the include filter the whole C:\ drive will be copied. I can't imagine this is what you want.even without the include filters you suggested above. mahimahi, 24 Nov 2023, 14:11

Just use "C:\" as source path, "D:\Backup" as target, and "\Personal; \Business" as include filter.

Re: FTP Timeout when sync bigger files
FTP uses two connections, one to transfer the data, the other to send control commands. In your video it almost looks as if the control connection timed out. This used to be an issue in the past, but should be fixed: https://freefilesync.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6928 FFS set's CURLOPT_TCP_KEEPALIVE...

Re: Updated to 13.1 Now Backup fails.
1. Your original FFS version is too old (apparently from 2020). It's configuration files are not recognized anymore. To migrate your config you already did the right thing and install a "no so old" version 10.22. Once all your config files have been migrated, you can install the latest FFS...

I'm wondering where RTS was referenced... A real puzzle, indeed! :) These two pieces of information gave it away: folder is sync'd automatically. Re: File "modified" date/time changed
FWIW not setting modtime correctly in FFS 13.2 is certainly a bug outside of FFS. But if FFS can offer a workaround by reverting to the old behavior, so be it.

Re: File "modified" date/time changed
No changes on macOS, but Windows file copying indeed got changed a bit. Instead of redundantly setting modtimes during file copy and also directly after, FFS 13 extracts the file handle from the copy routine, so that modtimes are practically only set once. However it seems this duplicate second acce...

This is only an issue on macOS, and only during installation, where the capabilities of customizing the installer are severely limited. The app itself will be designated as "Donation Edition".

Re: Move right file fails to show old and new location. v13.0 & 13.1
This is a Windows text control bug related to the RIGHT_ARROW_CURV_DOWN(⤵) character. Windows incorrectly undercalculates its width. FreeFileSync implements a hack by adding whitespace characters to the last row. Unfortunately this proves insufficient in the above example.

Re: After Sync and no Changes The Software wants to sync all files again
Most web hoster's FTP does in fact support the MFMT FTP command to set file modification times. So it is indeed working fine in these cases. In other cases, maybe it's not that old FTP server software is used. My feeling is that users are deliberately disincentivized from using FTP by using a shabby...

Why don't you start by telling us your left and right base location(s). That is where the root of your problem is. And then we may be able to point out where the overlap is. The position of the 👓, and 💾 symbols were placed as separators between base folder path and base-relative path to answer exac...

If you use the SMB/CIFS protocol, your timestamps should be retained (at least they are in case of a Synology NAS). However, if you use the FTP protocol in most (all?) ca...

Re: Unable to build Freefilesync 13.1 on Ubuntu 23.10 (mantic)
wxWidgets' exception handling gets in the way of debugging by handling uncaught exceptions, thous hiding their point of origin. Luckily this behavior can be disabled. If you're not debugging FreeFileSync, this option doesn't matter, and you can ignore the error.

No, it's not Cloudflare. It's the webhoster. At this time I'm not planning to change web hosting. So you're one of a tiny number of users (probably could count with one hand) who are SOL.

Re: I do not understand what "paire multiples" means (and how to avoid it) !
Ah! Due to the (to me) confusing use of icons in the path, I did not notice that the left and right base locations are identical and thus fully overlap. Not exactly identical, one is D:\Users\Guy\Documents the other D:\Users\Guy\Documents\Entreprise But both essentially contain the same file: D:\Us...

Re: New feature idea
Looks like the following could be an improvement: File listing: clicking the folder part on the left: 1. parent folder on view => jump to line (already implemented) 2. TODO: parent folder not on view: select all child items (instead of selecting the file) => or even better: in both cases do 2!

Exactly!"None of the items in the list shown are directories, they're all files"therube, 25 Oct 2023, 15:45
If the folder item is also part of the current view, then clicking on the left folder part of any file contained immediately jumps to the parent folder line instead.
