You should only have the hostname/IP entered for the server location and then you select a directory to 'mount' from below

Re: change of directory timestamps
This is most likely because FFS uses a database file to track changes in a location. The file is read from and written to during a comparison/sync, thus the folder has been modified and the timestamp is updated. Disable "use database file to detect changes" to test this theory. You likely ...

This doesn't change what RTS monitors. What OP wants to do isn't possible without having that file in its own directoryDepending on your situation, the Filtering, Include/Exclude settings might help? therube, 16 Apr 2024, 15:00

Re: Issue with Modification Dates When Mirroring USB and Google Drive
FAT32 kind of sucks and does have some timestamp limitations. If you run a compare in FFS, check what the timestamps are of the files in Google Drive, they may be outside the range that FAT32 supports. It might be worth backing up the data on the USB drive, if it is important, and then reformat it t...

Re: Issue with Modification Dates When Mirroring USB and Google Drive
The USB drive format may not support the timestamps or the modification of them. Try switching to File Content or File Size comparison, although these will take longer to run.

Re: Recover from RecycleBin_tmp
FFS doesn't encrypt it. Pulling files out of the recycle bin manually usually doesn't work like that since there is extra data that Windows holds onto. You have to use the "restore" option from within Recycle Bin. Look into versioning or a more robust backup system to avoid this in the fut...

Sounds like you are using RTS to automate syncing?
If so, go re-save your .ffs_batch configurations and make sure to check 'auto-close' and probably 'run minimized'

Re: Upload updated files to ftp server without scanning remote ftp server
You have to scan remote files to determine what has been changed. There may be a tool out there that simply overwrites everything no matter what, but FFS isn't it

Re: Why is the comparison speed different?
You can create a service that runs in the background and constantly updates the FFS file. Then we wouldn't have to wait long. But then your PC is wasting resources constantly comparing data AND it is taking buffer space away from other processes that need it more for realtime use. @Plerry thanks, I...

Re: Hint at Source & Destination
Since FFS supports more than simply mirroring from a source to a destination, having the sides designated as such wouldn't make sense. Using two-way syncing would be an example where this doesn't work. FFS doesn't have a Dark Mode so any issues you are having with it should be directed at whoever im...

Re: Different synchronization results on 2 PCs from the same GDrive source
The first two and last two rows show mismatched timestamps. The timestamps on those files may be corrupt or out of the supported range on the network destination, thus being changed to the current date/time. The middle items show that the source has a different name than the destination. I'm sure yo...

Oh I see! I thought those were only accessible from the context menu. I missed that it says the first entry can be used by double-clicking! Nice
