Hello,

I would like to see an Expansion to the ignore errors option.

Instead of having a check mark; have a button that opens a window with all the possible errors listed (relating to file syncing) with check boxes next to them. Put in a check mark to ignore that error.

This would allow me to see errors that May be important to me and ignore the ones that are not.

EXAMPLE: I have a NAS Network hard drive. When I sync to that drive I always get the error that the recycle bin is unavailable. This error I can ignore but if something else comes up I would like to know about it.

Anyone else see a nee for something like this?

For warnings this is already there.
In the FFS GUI go to Tools / Options and click "Show details" behind the text "Show hidden dialogs and warnings again". There you have your list with checkboxes to show (or hide) the various dialogs and warning messages. Once done, click OK at the bottom.
Note that these are global settings, applicable to _all_ syncs, not just a specific sync.

I am not sure it is useful to have something similar for errors.
Errors blocking the entire sync will block anyway.
Errors at file level will prevent such file to be synced.
You can always save your sync as an *.ffs_batch and checkmark to Ignore Errors.
After running such sync you can then check the log-file of the sync and manually check for errors and their nature, or create a script that does that for you and shows errors you consider relevant.

Well, I’ll try to go a bit deeper into what I was getting at. In my Example, about getting the recycle bin not available error. When I flag it to ignore these errors, the log file that is created still shows up with a yellow exclamation mark in it. Then I have to go through and make sure that the only errors that were found were indeed the Recycle bin error. I do not mind the log files listing the ignored errors (I like them listed), but I don’t like the yellow exclamation mark displayed only for ignored errors. LOL! I’m paranoid of losing data the way it is, then having to sort through hundreds of lines of text only to come up with ‘ignored’ errors being flagged; I could just as well cut and paste the files.

So, I guess my idea is with the log files. List the errors found (all of them and note that they were ignored), but only flag the log file with the yellow exclamation mark if unignored (if that’s even a word) errors are found.

I hope this makes sense; I’ve been up a long time today.

Also, thanks for pointing me to the error listing. I may have never found it.

…… and a huge shout-out to the makers of this easy-to-use software. It is a game-changer for me and has made me a very happy man. I will support as often as I can! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!
