Hi all,

after 5 times asking zenju [at] freefilesync.org w/o any sign of life, I try it here.

A) Is znju still around at all...?

B) I have moved all my data out of C:\ to partition E:\ - so no C:\-activity disturbs my Data-Partition.

I have several (plenty) small ffs_batches for sub-folders in E:\:
•Only E:\...\user1\Docs
••PC-NAS-PC 2Way DatUsr1_OwnDoc.ffs_batch
•Only E:\...\user1\Pics
••PC-NAS-PC 2Way DatUsr1_OwnPic.ffs_batch
etc.
See <FFS 01>

These are synced with my NAS, where the same structure is maintained (Sub-folders below each user-folder).

I have created ffs_real for each such batch
•PC-NAS-PC 2Way DatUsr1_OwnDoc.ffs_real
•PC-NAS-PC 2Way DatUsr1_OwnPic.ffs_real
etc.
See <FFS 02> and <FFS 03>

I would assume: Only on a change / create / delete of any file / folder in and below such a dedicated location (PC or NAS), the xxx.ffs_real should recognise such and then start the related ffs_batch.

But: Every now and then, each ffs_real encounters 'ghost' activities and triggers the related ffs_batch.
This not within the set waiting-time (600sec), but any time from 600ms plus xxx - every now and then, but 'out of the blue'.

The log with the related %change_action% and %change_path% show: nothing - all empty unless I have done a real event.

What is FFS or the respective Windows-thing detecting on E:\ or NAS which triggers the ffs_real when nothing is done there?

It is not the NAS - I have done a test with E:\-locations only - same 'ghost'-triggers (sync E:\-subfolder with another E:\subfolder).

To switch off this 'ghost'-runs would be very helpful.

Many thanks - kind regards, Quasi

RTS is just listening for a change notifier from the OS, so 'something' is happening. Could be Antivirus or some other program that interacts with files.

Hi xCSxXenon
Many thanks.
With 'something' happening, there can be anything triggering the RTS, I understand.
So, well, that means take it or leave it :-)
Apart from 'countless' log-files not much downsides with this.
So I take it as it is and live with it.
Many thanks - kind regards, Quasi
