Folder was decrypted! Why

Hello,

I must moving to a new (and bigger server), with my files.
For this case, I have use the "FreeFileSync.
After the movment, some of my files are decryptet.
And I dont know why.
In advanced properties I can read, the files was decrypted. But not in my order!

On windows (7 64bit) Im looked in as an administrator.
But I can not decrypt the files.

To my knowledge, FFS has no decryption or encryption capabilities
So, it must be related to how the encrypted files/folders/volumes are mounted in the OS.

This is even stanger, and almost certainly FFS is not part of this problem

I'll assume you meant to say 'encrypted' in that sentence, otherwise I can't make sense of this post.

Were you using an encrypted filesystem on your old server? What type? What OS is it running?

What type of filesystem are you writing to on the new server? What OS is it running?

Have you tried manually copying a file from the old server to the new one?

Perhaps the issue here is that the files have been moved "as-is". Then when the old and new server use different types of encryption, the files could become unrecognizable on the new server. But I'm not sure, I haven't used encrypted filesystems myself.

Did you get hit with Ransomware by chance? it will encrypt your files..and FFS will sync them
