Hi,
I've mirrored left folder to right folder. Then, after it was done, I've entered some exclusions:
*.pst|*.ost (I want all outlook files to be deleted)
\*\Thunderbird\ (I want any subdirectories named Thunderbird to be deleted)
If I run the mirror again, those files and directories don't get deleted in right folder. They're just ignored.
Wouln't it be the proper behavior to delete those when we specify we don't want them?
Bug: Mirror doesn't delete excluded folders and files

I hope that this works as designed. I understand that when I ignore file or folder then it shouldn't be considered in synchronization (i.e. it should not be deleted in destination).
I use this functionality to deploy files to web server and I ignore config files changed locally.

And that is exactly as is to be expected.... If I run the mirror again, those files and directories don't get deleted in right folder. They're just ignored.JimLafleur, 12 Sep 2017, 01:43
After all, you have excluded the Outlook- and Thunderbird-files from your sync.
Excluded items are simply not touched by FFS.
If you don't like to have those Outlook- and Thunderbird-files in your mirrored location (any more), simply delete those files there once. Once excluded from the sync, they will not re-appear there.

Yes that's what I did. Not a big deal.If you don't like to have those Outlook- and Thunderbird-files in your mirrored location (any more), simply delete those files there once. Once excluded from the sync, they will not re-appear there. Plerry, 12 Sep 2017, 08:21
OK so it's by design.
I guess it's a new feature request then :
If using the "Mirror" variant, since it's supposed to be a mirror, delete the files in Right sides, if they're part of excluded files.
Thank your very much for this fast working piece of software!

I fully disagree with above feature request!
If that would be a selectable option (that is off by default): OK.
But please do not effectively disable the possibility to make mirror syncs to locations
where other (excluded) files might reside and are intended to stay.
