I've been using FFS for a few months but for some reason the external devivce I was using as backup recently changed drive letter from F to G. I was unable to resolve this easily, so I figured it would be easier to just make a new batch file and scheduled task in Windows Task Scheduler.
However, when I try to run the scheduled task in Task Scheduler, I get the FFS error box "Cannot find file "G:\Data Backup\FreeFileSync settings and logfile\DataSyncSettings.ffs_batch".
The batch file is saved under the external drive (G) that the data saves to. I've copied the batch file thread directly from the folder so it should be correct, and I know that batch file is present at that location and under that name.
Very strange - I had not problem like this before.
System is Windows 7 Home Premium SP1.
Thanks,
Steve.

OK, I think I've solved it.
I need to put only the batch file name (DataSyncSettings.ffs_batch) in the "Add arguments" box, and the rest of the file path needs to be put in the "Start in" box.
That's not how it's shown in the FFS Help tutorial - maybe this should be updated to be clearer.

If you're still involved in this forum - Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
I just wasted an hour and a half trying to resolve exactly this problem. It's now ten years since you posted and incredibly the information on the tutorial is still wrong 😡

For what it's worth, it is correct as it is today. That's not how it's shown in the FFS Help tutorial - maybe this should be updated to be clearer. mycspitta, 14 Apr 2015, 00:20

No it's not.
Admittedly, the instructions could be interpreted two ways, but the screenshot definitely shows both the path and file name in the 'Arguments' field, which doesn't work - at least not on the WIN11 version of Task Scheduler. I've emailed Zenju in the hope they'll correct the error and save others going through the same pain.

This is what I'm referring to. I am running Windows 11 24H2, fully updated, and my task is working perfectly fine with the entire path and config in the "Add Arguments" field.both the path and file name in the 'Arguments' field, which doesn't work - at least not on the WIN11 version of Task Scheduler. That's really odd, because it wouldn't work for me this afternoon until I separated them into the two fields, as the earlier posts suggest. Then it worked immediately 🤔😕

Almost certainly missed the "Use quotation marks to protect spaces" part in the manual.
