Hi,

I would like to find out the logic of the tool when synching between 2 folders.

I am planning to do some major re-structuring of my source folders, I don't plan to modify any of the file content, just moving them around to new folders and renaming existing ones. I am curious if I start synching the source to the target, will the tool
1) recognise the files are the same just the folder structure has changed and will just modify the target folders and moving the target files around to match source? OR
2) It starts deleting stuff in the target for folders that has moved or renamed and copy the files from source again to target.

Thanks in advance

Thanks, but I can't seem to find the specific answer in the FAQ, which I've browsed before posting this thread. Can you point me to the particular FAQ that addressed my question?

For anyone that is interested.
Attached is a screenshot found in the synchronization settings explanation. So folder synching is only supported for certain file system and doesn't happen the first time.

It is not "folder syncing" but "detection of moved files" that is only supported for certain file system and doesn't happen the first time.
