Problem with copy between Ubuntu and Google Drive

Hi,

I've just discovered FFS and i'd like to use it to synchronise some files between my PC and my Google drive.
But i have the problem described under :
- When i add a file on PC side, and try to launch the sync, i have an error message : "the data stream has an unexpected size - expected : xxxxx - found : yyyy (notifyUnbufferedRead)" whatever the file is

The correct size (given by system) is the second one (yyy value). xxx value is smaller than the correct one.

My system is Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS, with last release of FFS (11.7)

Copy from Google drive to PC folders work fine.

Copy between two folders in the PC work fine too.

Have you experimented such a problem, and can you help me to fix it ?

At the same time, i have an another question : with an existing file on both size, when the content of a file have changed on one side, is there a way to copy automatically the most recent release to the older one, without having to manually choose the way of copy ?

I can't answer the Drive question, but as for the second question, you want to set it as a two-way sync so it checks for the newer file between the two sides.

The file size that is shown after comparison in FreeFileSync is the "expected : xxxxx". This should be the same you see in your file browser.

I am getting the same error messages as Mac-Gyver, but on macOS 11.2.2, beginning with FreeFileSync 11.7. It worked fine in FreeFileSync 11.6 and earlier versions.

@Mac-Gyver -- can you try downloading FreeFileSync 11.6 from the Archive and check if the problem still occurs?

@Zenju -- was anything changed in version 11.7 that may have broken uploads to Google Drive? If there is anything I can help test, please let me know.

@wingracer : ok. Even if it's not satisfactory, i'm happy to see that i'm not alone. There is something logical because MacOs is based on Unix like ubuntu. I will make the test with 11.6 asap.

@Zenju : i don't understand your answear. The right question is : why FFS see two different size of the same file ? Of course, the file is not accessed during the sync.

@xCsxXenon : The two-way sync is the one i've chosen, and i'm speaking about a file existing both sides, but with a content changed on one side. In this case, after comparison, FFS show a yellow lightning icon for the file, and i must choose which way the copy will be done at sync step.
As i want to make synchro automatically in crontab, such manual steps are not possible.

I meant that you should check what you see in your file browser, and what you see in the FFS overview grid, then compare that to "expected, actual" of the error message. The "actual" being the right size is unlikely.

@wingracer : I have not the problem with the 11.6 release. So i will use this one, thank you.

In addition, this release solve the problem of my second question : FFS find himself the correct update.

Hope the problems will be fixed one day in the new release....

Thank you so much for fixing this so quickly, Zenju! I would help with testing the fix in the 11.8 beta, but I don't have a Linux system. I only have macOS.

@wingracer : as macOs is a unix based OS, and as you said before you have the problem too, you should have benefit in testing this new release.
