Hi Folks, and thanks for your help.
When I sync'd a subfolder of folder, only 1 file was correcly copied to bring both sides, C:\subfolder (L) and E:\subfolder (R), up to par. When I compare C:\folder with E:\folder and look only at subfolder in the list of proposed changes (Relative Paths), FFS now wants to copy every file from subfolder on C: to E:, even immediately after having just sync'd the two subfolders. I'm sure it's a setting somewhere I'm not recognizing, but? Any help?

Is it more accurate to say "C:\folder\subfolder" and "E:\folder\subfolder" instead of
C:\subfolder (L) and E:\subfolder (R)

Yes, thanks for that correction. This is my first time on this forum. I was trying to be brief which I won't any longer. Thanks. Restated...
When I sync C:\folder\subfolder with E:\folder\subfolder, FFS correctly copies the few files that need to be sync'd (looking at the results in File Explorer, I can confirm all files are then up to date in E:\folder\subfolder.) When I then have FFS compare C:\folder with E:\folder to see what other subfolders still need sync'ing, FFS now wants to again copy all of C:\folder\subfolder to E:\folder\subfolder.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help or insight into this.

When you run a compare, FFS will tell you why it thinks the left and right copies of the file are different. What does it say is different between then two?

Or is this an artifact of the use of the database-files from version 13.x onward?
When syncing between C:\folder\subfolder and E:\folder\subfolder both said subfolders will contain a db-file.
When you then Compare between C:\folder with E:\folder said "folder"s will not yet contain a db-file.

Thank you xCSxXenon. When I run a compare, FFS tells me the file only exists on the left (C:\folder\subfolder). I know this is untrue, because I purposely deleted E:\folder\subfolder a couple of days ago and manually copied that subfolder from C:\folder back to E:\folder just so I'd know they were identical (confirmed by manual inspection). FFS still says every file in the subfolder does not exist on the right.
Thank you Plerry. Not sure I understand your answer. Sorry, but I should have originally said that I am using Version 12.2, 64-Bit, Windows 7. Maybe using V 12.2 is the problem?

Sounds like you locations aren't actually correct. Post a screenshot for each setup. Set it up to sync the subfolders, run a compare, then attach a screenshot of the entire FFS window after the compare has finished. This should show us that the two folders are equal and nothing needs to be synced. Then set it up to sync the main folders, run a compare, and attach another screenshot of the FFS window after that finishes. This is where you are claiming FFS is saying the subfolders aren't in sync, so we want to compare these two results

Thank you for your reply xCSxXenon, but I am partly abandoning FFS. I will use it to merely report its compare results and then check the two folders side by side in Win Explorer.
I've been in the computer electronics field for 45 years. This level of difficulty is just not worth it.
Thanks, anyway.

Sounds like you're stuck in the computer electronics field from 45 years ago... Pretty simple software to work with, glad you have a solution figured out thoughThank you for your reply xCSxXenon, but I am partly abandoning FFS. xCSxXenon, Sorry but that's a very poor assumption. Just in the last year, I've successfully learned how to use Gimp, LibreCAD, QCAD, Inkscape, and others. Just because I worked with the first 5MB hard drive doesn't mean I got stuck there. I beg to differ about the ease of FFSs use, even though I've used it successfully for more than 10 years.
But, no hard feelings, and just to show my support, I donated to FFS and upgraded to ver 13.1. Thanks.
