Folder "user\downloads"

I have configured FFS to sync my user's Downloads folder. If I check the folder with Windows Explorer I see the two synchronized folders. If I open the folder via FFS 13.8 I see the folder completely empty, both the source and the destination. The synchronization does not detect errors and in any case the files are present in both folders. In my opinion FFS can't open only the "D:\Alex\Downloads" and "Z:\Alex\Downloads" folder but I don't understand why.

Hi,
I presume D: might be an internal drive or partition?
What is drive-z linked to?
When you press "Compare" it should scan Drive D: and Z: and show a list of all of your files on the left D: and an empty directory on the right Z:.

OK.
What happens if you put the left side into the downloads directory?:
d:\downloads
z:\downloads
Even though it should still find your downloads directory when pointing to D:\ see what happens when you name it explicitly.
If you click on the green gear icon at the top of the program and go to the filter tab, does the top part that says include have an * in it?
And the exclude section needs to not have downloads in it.

Sorry John, I made a mistake.
I opened the other sync folders and saw several subfolders and when I opened the Downloads folder I saw nothing. I thought I could see the files too.

You SHOULD see everything in the downloads folder.

Just a note, if the two locations are already in-sync, your comparison results will be empty. The filters below the results allow you to toggle different categories of file pairs. The "equal" category is hidden by default because that information is much less important than the differences.

Yes. I forgot about that possibility. Need to check the file manager on both sides.xCSxXenon, 17 Nov 2024, 15:35

I was wrong. I thought I could view files with the button next to the path.

Ah yes. Since only directories are valid options for selection, only they are visible when browsing via this button.I was wrong. I thought I could view files with the button next to the path. begale70, 17 Nov 2024, 18:04
