Using Mirror sync, I continue to get a warning regarding my versioning folder: "The versioning folder must not be part of the synchronization. The folder should be excluded via filter."

My versioning folder, named "FFS-Revisions" in on the root of my D: drive which is being synced. I've added "\FFS_Revisions\" (without quotes) to the Exclude filter, but I still get the warning.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

"FFS-Revisions" (with a dash) is not the same as "\FFS_Revisions\" (with an underscore).

That's a typo in this post, not in the program - I have \FFS_Revisions\ in the exclude area of the Filter.

Then you need to rename "D:\FFS-Revisions" to "D:\FFS_Revisions"

That's a typo in this post, NOT in the program - I have \FFS_Revisions\ in the Exclude area of the Filter. That doesn't work and I get a warning to exclude this folder.

Could the problem be that this is not a subfolder - it's D:\FFS_Revisions? I tried "\FFS_Revisions" in the Exclude box but that didn't work either. Should it be "*\FFS_Revisions"?

Just to make sure you use the correct definition and spelling of your exclusion, you can run a Compare.
Then select the folder to be excluded, right-click said folder and use the context menu to exclude the folder.
After that, you can review your Exclude Filter definition.

Thanks for that - I followed your suggestion and the answer seems to be *\FFS_Revisions\" - will give that a go and see if it works.

I chose the folder from the Compare list and it didn't work - I still get the warning. I'm clearly missing something...

FreeFileSync is backing up two network computers (the software is installed on both machines). The backup target is an Asustor NAS. Each computer is backing up two drives, a C: and a D: - the C: drive backs up a few subfolders and specific files and the D: drive is the entire drive with the D:\FFS_Revisions root (source) folder being excluded.

Everything works beautifully except the "Exclude" on this root folder. The change files do show up in the D:\FFS_Revisions folder without a problem, but the folder also shows up on the Asustor's backup.
