Linux FFS slow compare

Comparing two large SMB shares (50TB) and my Windows machine I have always used can compare the 2mil files in about 20min. It is a very fast Threadripper system. I want to switch to a Linux Ubuntu VM install in Proxmox. Tried it today using the same FFS file so same settings and it is slower to the point it would take days. I made sure the compare settings are identical.

Just curious what computer specs or SMB traits might lead to two systems having such different speeds for comparison of files.

I’m going to do some more testing tomorrow. I have a windows VM I might try to see if it is a VM thing.

See if the Beta changes anything for you, viewtopic.php?t=10039#p37250.
(That dealt with curl, but you never know.)

interesting. is there possibly a linux version of the Beta? If i have time today I'll try that in a windows VM but i'd prefer to get the linux machine working.

Thanks

Just updated my Ubuntu to 12.1 and it seems to be working great. Thanks for the update. Will be switching to donation edition.
