FFS 12.1 does not recognize Spanish characters

Hi,

I am using FFS 12.1 and I noticed that this version fails to compare files and folders with Spanish characters such as ñ, á, é, í, ó, ú etc. This was not a problem in the previous version (12.0) so hopefully this issue can be resolved soon.

Can you confirm by reverting to 12.0 temporarily?
Also, are you using a network location?

I can confirm that this problem is not present in version 12.0 - I reverted to it to make sure that the problem was only present in version 12.1. Regarding a network location, no, I am not using one. I am just comparing folders which are stored in two different external disks.

@Zenju. Sure. I created a folder with Spanish characters called á é í ó ú. In FFS 12.0 I can add this folder to the program for comparison (1st image) but in FFS 12.1 I can't just drag the folder to FFS (2nd image). However, if I remove the Spanish characters, FFS 12.1 recognizes the folder (3rd image).

How are you adding the directory?
Paste into the dialog? Drag & Drop? File picker? Typing in manually?

And those are spaces between the letters in your directory name?


Not running into any issue on my end, Windows 7.

Yes, this an issue with drag-and-drop specifically:

FFS 12.0: Drag and drop, the browse option and writing down the path works for folders with and without Spanish characters.

FFS 12.1: The browse option and writing down the path works for folders with and without Spanish characters. Drag and drop works for folders *without* Spanish characters but not for folders *with* Spanish characters.
