I reinstalled Linux Mint 21.1. Now I no longer see a user window with left and right file entries, only the tiny one . I can't use that. Several years it was 1st choice for me, but now? Not good:

You are showing a RealTimeSync (RTS) GUI window,
From your description, it seems you are looking for the FreeFileSync (FFS) GUI window.
So, simply open FFS instaed of RTS.

The Mint version shows the window above. I took an online tar.gz version and everything runs now.
