Hello,
I just got this error during install:
Information:
Win10x64 22H2
installer: FreeFileSync_12.2_Windows_Setup.exe (SHA256: 7ABFF7004A4DBAC4E6D1F333675B3BB7AFC14AEDAFAF266E46CA5463E045F015)
existing version 12.1 - installing to upgrade that
I was unable to reproduce in a VM, tried installing 12.2 directly, and tried installing 12.1 then immediately installing 12.2
12.2 installer - ERROR_NOT_SUPPORTED: The request is not supported. [DuplicateHandle]

Are you able to reproduce this error?

to answer both questions:
12.1 was previously installed fine. i did not first uninstall it before installing 12.2.
i have not reproduced this error. things i've tried:
1. windows sandbox (no existing FFS), install 12.2
2. windows sandbox, install 12.1, then immediately install 12.2
3. on a different computer, with pre-existing 12.1 FFS and identical configuration, install 12.2 (no uninstall first)
4. i ran the 12.2 installer again on the original computer that gave the error, without first uninstalling the 12.2 that gave the error. no error this time.
do you think it should be fine for now or would you advise i uninstall FFS on the problem computer and re-install 12.2 just to be safe?
thanks.

Probably fine. Restarting the computer probably would have fixed it honestly. Computers can be weird
