Hello,
I'm running FreeFileSync on Mac OS Apple Ventura 13.3.1. I went to upgrade FreeFileSync and encountered the following installation error. Refer screenshot file attachment. It states that "The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
I assume I'm not the first person to encounter this problem.
I have disabled Dropbox, deleted the .pkg file (and the other file that comes with the upgrade download) and tried downloading the files again and reinstalling. Same error message.
I dragged the two files from the download folder onto my desktop and tried running the setup again. Same error message.
Out of frustration, I deleted the FreeFileSyc application from my MacBook and tried to reinstall a new 12.2 version of FreeFile Sync. Again, the same error message.
Any suggestions would be appreciated as I now no longer have any working version of FreeFileSync on my MacBook.
Regards
William

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, I read that article previously and that is why I disabled / deleted Dropbox and then re-downloaded the files and placed them on my desktop prior to re-running the install only to receive the same error message. Is there an .ini file that I may need to delete prior to reinstalling the FreeFileSync software?

Apple Support advised me that there is a known issue with Dropbox and Apple OS Ventura. In my case, my system Download folder 'vanished' as a result of a recent Dropbox update. FreeFileSync was trying to access my Download folder that no longer existed and hence the error message while running the installation. It became necessary to erase the hard drive on my MacBook and reinstall Ventura. I will no longer use Dropbox. I was able to download and install FreeFileSync without issue.
