Sync conflict

I sometimes number my folders, e.g.: 01. Buy, 02. Sell, 03. Rent. When I change the numbering of folders in a sync drive, Freefilesync syncs incorrectly. The old folder is not deleted but remains and there is a big mess.

You should switch from "Update" to "Mirror"

I have to use two way sync.

If you are renaming folders, Two-way should be replicating that action in the other location.
What does
That works fine with two-way and would rename that folder on the other side as well
What does
mean? It sounds like you are just renaming, for example, "01. Buy" to "06. Buy'When I change the numbering of folders in a sync drive

No, i rename 01. buy 02. sell to 01. sell 02. buy. This mixes up FFS completely.
When I backup the folder as a copy in the same folder, then FFS doubles it: 01. buy/01. buy old will become 01. buy/01. buy 1 old and 01. buy 2 old and so on. Very strange!

"two way sync" shouldn't have any problems with the scenario you describe. If it does, do you have steps that reproduce the issue?

The steps are mentioned above. Maybe it is up to the numbering of the directories. Internal naming of files and directories is still realised by 8+3 characters. Because of that I suggest, FFS is mixed up, when I rename a directory name as stated above.
I solved the problem as follows: I stopped sync on my 4 devices (NAS, PC, two Tablets), then I removed the wrong directories manually local. After restarting sync, there are no wrong directories. But this is only a workaround.

What are your directory pairs?
Have any that are running in a round-robin scenario?

That sounds like you are using "Update" and not "two-way"
