How cloud I speed up the "searching the old files"

I'm sorry for I'm not a native speaker of English.
I use this software for synching my folder of codes and the history files were stored in another folder named history, and I set the limitation of history is 90 times of same file. But when I use this software for synching, it takes too much time to search for old files to replace, would you like to set a option to use databases to store a list of history files rather than searching a new list?
