I have a rudimentary understanding of how to configure ffs so bear with me.
What ffs currently does is to once a day to look at a folder, and copy the folders and files that have been modified since the last run to another location. When it does that it creates a new year folder if needed, a new month folder if needed, and a date folder, so I end up with a folders like this:
k:backuplongterm\2023\08\31\nameofsourcefolder\
k:backuplongterm\2023\09\01\nameofsourcefolder\

I would like to keep older folders indefinitely, but not all of them. For example maybe I'd want to keep all folders that are generated on the first day of each month. This task could be scriptble in powershell etc but it'd be super handy if ffs has a feature like that.

In ffs deletion of files handled by the versioning system. I've never touched that. Is it capable of what I need?

Any input on this?

Hmm,

Seems your asking a lot of a simple sync software.

If what you are asking for were easily doable, I'll bet someone would have responded.

I haven't a clue.

Sorry.

I asked not because I expected it to have that feature, but because ffs has many many features that I have no exposure to as a basic pattern user. That means I don't know how many bases it covers. It doesn't seem like a "simple sync software" to me <g>. Fair enough if this can't be handled via ffs.
