No files to Synchronize

I'm trying to update a backup folder that contains both MS doc files and an Excel xlsx spreadsheet file with images. An FFS (v13.1) screen error message says "Items have different content", and another message at the bottom of the same screen says "No files to synchronize". How can that be? I can see a big difference in the folder size displayed on the FFS screen, that is why I'm backing up.

Once you run a compare, there are boxes at the bottom of the window to show/hide different items based on action. Make sure they aren't all set to 'hidden'
