How to sync veracrypt container

I use FFS mainly for backup and archiving purpose. That means that files on the target drive may be overwritten but never deleted.

I have a few veracrypt containes that should always be overwritten by the source file. The problem is, that changing a file in the container does not change the containers modified date. Can FFS be set up to overwrite independent of the change date.

I dont want to sync files in the container but backup the container itself.

Here's something that may help.

In VeraCrypt, open settings, preferences and look about halfway down for the option "Preserve modification timestamp of file containers".

If unchecked, then any change to a file or folder in the container will update the container's timestamp.
If checked, then Veracrypt will not update the container's modified date ever. This would prevent it being detected as a change during a sync.

It's possible that the timestamp is not updated until the container is closed.
