Does FreefileSync links with my Onedrive account for backup etc.

Not by itself.
You'll need to either connect to onedrive using the built in onedrive software that comes with Windows, or you can get a free/paid cloud mounting utility program that supports onedrive.
One other option is to connect to Onedrive using Webdav. Not the greatest, but it works for some folks.
