I am getting an error message when trying to backup certain pdf files (as part of an overall backup). Here is an example:

12:27:14 PM Error Cannot read file "D:\Misc White PC Desktop Files -- 10-12-2020\bill-715450153551.pdf".
ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED: Access is denied. [CreateFile]

I have tried playing with the different options in the program, as well as checking the properties of the specific files, but nothing is allowing for these pdf files to be copied. Other pdf files copied with no problems, but there are 37 pdf files that just won't cooperate.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks.

Thanks. Unfortunately, they didn't give any solutions in that other thread that applied to my situation. I was able to copy all of the pdf files using TeraCopy to the "to" drive, so apparently it is just an issue with FreeFileSync and these pdf files. I really hope it's just a setting somewhere.

Do you run FreeFileSync (FFS) manually or as a scheduled task when you get your "access is denied" error?

It was manual. I did a Mirror, then tried an Update to see if it would clear the errors. No luck.

Also, this is just backing up files from one internal hard drive to another internal hard drive in the same PC. The fact that I can easily copy those files manually or using TeraCopy with no issues makes me think there is some issue with the way some pdf files were created and how FreeFileSync handles those.
