my last version of FreeFileSync was able to show hidden files - such like /home/user/.thunderbird - but this seems not :-(

FFS has no influence on the ability to view hidden files. What are your filter settings?

My filter settings were default; now I added ".*".
But that does no difference. Hidden directories were not shown.

If you are browsing for a location in FFS, it still uses your native file explorer. Make sure you have enabled viewing hidden/system files/folders in your OS
