I started using the version before 13.4 a few weeks ago. Immediately after installation, using the default UI, I configured a backup and it completed successfully. I made some changes to the original folder and those got backed up as well.
I then started poking around and moved parts of the UI around accidentally. I tried to fix things but only made them worse. It became unusable.
I deleted the previous version and installed 13.4, hoping that would restore the default UI. It did not. Apparently there is a configuration file somewhere; I cannot find it.
I played around some more with moving parts around, but cannot get to the default.
HELP! Thanks.
How do I restore the default User Interface?

Look for the config file. It's probably in ~/.config/FreeFileSync (Linux) or %APPDATA% (Windows). I think it's named GlobalSettings.xml.
edit: did you try the Tools menu -> "Reset layout" option?

The "reset layout" worked! I am embarrassed that I did not look at that; I assumed something like that would be in Preferences.
