I know you can just drag to iCloud or Adobe Cloud, but 8TB (and growing) is a lot for those services and can be pretty expensive. What do you all recommend?

For large amounts of data like that, people start to migrate towards solutions like shipping drives to something like AWS for backup. Back Blaze is another option I've seen around. 8TB+ cloud storage and expensive will always be in the same sentence.

Hi,

If you have that much data, and you don't access all of it all the time, S3 storage can and should be the most cost effective.

I'd compare Backblaze B2 storage to Idrive S3 storage. They both have competitive pricing.

Google charges for data transfer out
https://cloud.google.com/storage/pricing#network-pricing
Contabo (and cloudflare R2) do not

so it depends how you use it.

Check Nakivo backup. It's very affordable but supports public clouds like Azure Blob, Wasabi, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2 and also integrates with S3-compatible platforms. I create incremental backups and use the GFS retention scheme to save storage space. Also, it allows me to encrypt my backups and make immutable, which is an extra layer of protection against ransomware.
