I am a new user.
I have a program that will not allow me to place its data files in a cloud directory such as Dropbox or OneDrive. The program will only be run on one computer at a time - never at the same time. I would like to be able to keep the data files between the 2 computers synced so I can move from one computer to another without having to manually copy the files from one computer to another.
To accomplish this, I set up a directory pair on my desktop computer where one directory is in the root of my C: drive (e.g. - C:\DirectoryName), and the other directory is in my DropBox folder (e.g. - C:\Users\ray\Dropbox\DirectoryName).
Everything works properly.
I set up a directory pair on my laptop computer using the same directories. When I try to synchronize, I get the error: "A folder input field is empty."
What does this error mean and how do I fix it?

Do those folders actually exist in the same locations?
C:\DirectoryName
and
C:\Users\ray\Dropbox\DirectoryName
Sometimes the username/folder is different between computers, double check that. If the paths are actually the same, capture and attach a couple screenshots; One showing the main FFS window including the paths and the another showing the error message you get.

Yes, both folders actually exist on both computers. I used "DirectoryName" as a pseudonym in my original question. The actual folder name is "N1MM+" as shown in the attached screenshots.
I have attached screenshots of the main FreeFileSync window from both computers & the .ffs_batch files from both computers. I have also attached a screenshot of the error I get on the laptop.

Yep, the laptop is wrong. It is not set up like the desktop is. You see how the desktop has a single line with the local folder on the left and DropBox on the right? Make that the same on the laptop by:
1) Move the DropBox path from the left side on the 2nd row to the right side on the first row
2) Hit the red '-' the the left of the, now empty, 2nd row to remove it from the configuration

We were all newbies at some point ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
At least you were clear, concise, and receptive! Glad it's working for you!
