Hi everyone,
I've started using FreeFileSync (FFS), and it works very well overall, but I've encountered a small issue. I have a NAS with more than 1.5TB of files connected to my PC (Intel i7, 8GB RAM), and I'm mirroring these files to Google Drive.
The comparison between the NAS and Google Drive is very fast at first, up to around 500,000 files. However, beyond that, the process slows down significantly, with the check running at an average speed of 10 items per second. It takes about 2-3 minutes to reach 500,000 files, but then 4 hours to process the next 500,000. Both the processor and RAM seem underutilized during this time.
Do you have any idea what could be causing this, and how I could resolve it?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Orlando

What Comparison settings (F6) variant do you use?
File time and size, File content or File size.
If you have part of your Google Drive data (also) stored in a local Google Drive folder, that part will compare pretty fast (your first ~500,000?). Comparing files that are only stored in the cloud will obviously be much slower (your second ~500,000?).

You'll need multiple threads to speed up access to Google Drive (e.g. something like 10): https://freefilesync.org/manual.php?topic=performance
